HISTORY
Association of Korean Business Clubs (History)
On July 8, 2016, the Kazakhstan-Korea Cooperation Forum was held in the Friendship House of Almaty under the auspices of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
The Forum became a dialogue platform for Kazakhstani and South Korean businessmen, partners from other countries, to discuss the issues of attracting investments, development of a favorable business environment, elimination of administrative barriers that hinder quality interaction.
There was also a meeting between Korean businessmen from CIS countries. The idea of creating a platform for Korean businesspeople in the CIS region was born long ago, and it was first voiced at this Forum. After that, the initiative group proposed the creation of a Coordination Council consisting of three people from each country.
For the first time, the Coordinating Council met in Kyrgyzstan on September 17, 2016. It is gratifying that such an event was held in Bishkek. Kyrgyzstan has traditionally been a meeting place for the leaders of the CIS countries, as confirmed by the Summit of the CIS Heads of State, which also took place in Bishkek these days.
The most important event was the signing of the Memorandum on the establishment of the Association of Korean Business Clubs. One round table brought together leaders, businessmen and representatives of business circles from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
The next meeting of Korean businessmen was held on November 18, 2016 in Tashkent, in the conference hall of the hotel "Uzbekistan", where the second meeting of the Coordinating Council of the UKBC was held.
The Council was represented by the following clubs:
1) Business Club of the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan;
2) Club of entrepreneurs of Koreans of Uzbekistan "Koryoin.uz";
3)Business Club "Bishkek Forum" (Kyrgyzstan);
4) "Progress" Union of Entrepreneurs (Kyrgyzstan);
5) "Kimchi" Club (St. Petersburg);
The meeting consisted of two working sessions. In the first part, the following issues were discussed: Name of the association, definition of the mission, goal, values and objectives. In the second part, the rules of the association, the organizational structure and the place of the next meeting were discussed.
The 3rd meeting of the Association of Korean Business Clubs was held within the framework of the "New Generation Korean Business Forum 2017", which took place on April 21-23, 2017. More than 200 representatives of business communities, owners of enterprises, top managers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine took part in this event.
On July 20, 2017, the Wyndham Garden Astana Hotel was held the Kazakh-Korean Cooperation Forum dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the stay of Koreans in Kazakhstan and the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
The purpose of the forum is to organize a permanent communication and information platform for interaction of Kazakhstan and foreign Korean entrepreneurs.
Within the framework of the Forum, meetings of the Network of Foreign Korean Businessmen "YBLN" and the Association of Korean Business Clubs, which unites more than 200 entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, were held.
On the second day of the Forum, foreign participants visited the International Exhibition "EXPO-2017", where they were able to expand their business relations and visited the pavilions of the participating countries.
On October 6-8, 2017, the Regional Forum of the Association of Korean Business Clubs of the CIS was held on Lake Issyk-Kul in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Forum summarized the results of the organization's activities for the first year of its existence.
The event brought together representatives of five CIS countries, with more than 70 participants, who were represented by eight Business Clubs:
1) Business Club of the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan;
2) «Koryoin» Business Club (Uzbekistan);
3) Business Club "Bishkek Forum" (Kyrgyzstan);
4) "Progress" Business Union (Kyrgyzstan);
5) « Kimchi» Business Club (St. Petersburg);
6) «Sonbon» Business Club (Moscow);
7) Business club of the All-Ukrainian Association of Koreans;
8) «WONDON» Business Club (Primorsky Krai).
Upon arrival to the pearl of Kyrgyzstan, Lake Issyk-Kul, a trip to the cultural center "Rukh-Ordo" named after Chingiz Aitmatov took place, which combined the history, spiritual heritage of different cultures and nationalities of the world. The idea of the cultural park amazes with its depth: on the territory of the complex five white chapels of absolutely identical appearance are located in a circle at the same distance from each other - they are symbols of various world religious confessions. It is gratifying that five CIS countries also take part in our Forum, thus emphasizing equality, respect for each other and unity of the chosen path.
Summing up the results of the year, Howard Sin, the representative of Kyrgyzstan, officially handed the Cup and flag of the UKBC to the President of the next period, the representative of Uzbekistan - Konstantin Tu, followed by the inauguration ceremony of the UKBC President, with the reading of oath:
"I, Konstantin Tu, solemnly swear, accepting the authority of the President of the Korea Business Clubs Association:
To bear the title of President of the UKBC with responsibility and dignity;
To observe and defend the Charter, rules and values of our organization;
To promote the mission of the UKBC and realize the goals of the Association for the coming year of my presidency;
To promote the unification of the Business Clubs and the development of their members;
To be an honest, responsible leader and worthy representative of the Korean people, working for their benefit and welfare;
To serve the UKBC faithfully.
After that, the UKBC anthem was played for the first time, and participants from all five CIS countries worked on it. Someone at the Forum said that this anthem has gone beyond the UKBC and will probably become the song of all Koreans. We'll live, we'll see.
