"Bishkek-Forum" club members' contribution to the fight against COVID-19

It so happened that I have first-hand knowledge about this disaster, Covid-19 and community-acquired pneumonia. While in the infectious diseases’ hospital, I saw the work of doctors and medical staff, so to speak, live. For 6-8 hours not to take off protective suits, to breathe through 2-3-layers masks is a test for any person, but they have to work with all this: do injections all day, including intravenous ones, do not make a mistake in the medical prescriptions, prepare a set of drugs and much more. After I was discharged from the hospital, I became aware of the loss of my Sister. All this once again prompted the idea of the need to provide all possible assistance to the leadership of the country, the people of Kyrgyzstan. On 18.07.2020 I accepted the offer to take part in a conference call to discuss this issue without hesitation, although my personal condition was still difficult both physically and mentally.

During the discussion of the issue of possible assistance of the Korean diaspora to sick citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from the members of the Board, Chen G.V. and Lee Vl.A. there was a proposal to find a room for observation for the reception of patients with Covid-19 citizens. But at that time, many day and night hospitals were already open. Then I made a proposal to find a hotel for a good rest of the medical staff after leaving the "red zone" with the provision of three meals a day. The owner of the Europa Hotel, Ruslan Chagai, being acutely conscious of the situation in Bishkek because of the Pandemic, offered his location without hesitation. Structural subdivisions of the Public Association of Koreans of the Kyrgyz Republic (PAK KR), members of the Presidium and the Board, the business club "Bishkek Forum" organized the collection of money necessary for organizing catering, economic expenses, electricity costs and pledged to assume all costs.

It seems to me that such actions of the Public Association of Koreans of the Kyrgyz Republic (PAK KR) members deserve respect and honor. I would like to express my gratitude to all the members of the Board and members of the Presidium of the PAK KR who participated in the conference call for their high sense of responsibility, for their civic position and ability to take common pain as their own. On 18.07, the decision was made, and in a day, 11 doctors and nurses were received by the hotel. This morning, the Europe hotel received 32 doctors who had come to help us from the Russian Federation. I repeat that the PAK KR not only provided a hotel for free accommodation for doctors, but also assumed all the costs for food, household services, electricity.

Together we are power, together we will overcome any difficulty!

On behalf of the Korean diaspora,

President of the PAK KR                                         V. Khan
