Head of KOTRA CIS in Kyrgyzstan.

From April 25 to 26, Mr. Kim John Kyung CEO of KOTRA CIS was visited by Mr. Lee Songho, Deputy Commercial Attaché of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea. The main goals of the visit are meetings with the Public Association of Koreans of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz Association of Greenhouses to discuss issues on the development of greenhouse agriculture according to new technologies.

 

The first meeting was held at the Korean People’s House with an asset from the Korean Association. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Board Pak Arthur , Vice Presidents Kim Nadezhda , Nim Oleg, Assistant to the President Kan Vladimir, Chief Editor of the Ilchi newspaper Li Valentina , President of the Kyrgyz Greenhouse Association Sin Howard and Director of the Center for Development of Korean SMEs Kim Yuri . Arthur Kim acquainted the head of KOTRA with the activities of the OOKKR, issues of cooperation were discussed. Howard Sin talked about the current situation in the greenhouse market, after which took place a visit to the Korean-Kyrgyz agro-industrial center.

 

Recall that the construction of this complex began in 2011 and, today, it is the most high-tech greenhouse complex in Kyrgyzstan. The area is 1 ha., on which tomatoes and strawberries are grown according to the hydroponic system. The manager of the greenhouse Dmitry Ham acquainted visitors with the cultivated crops, especially like strawberries (Sorian variety). Seedlings were imported directly from Korea and successfully took root in our country. Now, Kyrgyzstanis can find delicious strawberries in the markets of our city from December to May.

After visiting the greenhouse complex, the guests visited the Kimchi retail chain, which is successfully developing today in Kyrgyzstan. The store has more than 5,000 items: food, household goods, household chemicals, cosmetics, bedding. Founder of the retail network, Eugenia Lee, showed the audience the assortment of products presented on store shelves. Mr. Kim John Kyung was pleasantly surprised by such a range of products.

In the evening, the Association of Korean Business Clubs of Kyrgyzstan, which includes the Progress Entrepreneurs Club and the Bishkek Forum Business Club, invited guests to a friendly dinner at Kim’s Resto Karaoke, where participants could speak on different topics in a relaxed atmosphere. Recall that this is the first joint project of two business sites: Oleg Nim (Progress) and Alexander Kim (Bishkek Forum).

The next morning, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation with Deputy Minister Kerimaliev Zhanybek . Were discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture. Zhanybek Kerimaliev assured the Korean guests that the ministry would make every effort to develop the greenhouse direction in Kyrgyzstan. In the afternoon, KOTRA representatives visited the Green Line greenhouse complex, where Shin Roman  showed Korean and Chinese types of greenhouses and talked about his ideas on how to effectively develop this area in our country. They also discussed the establishment of a joint center where farmers could purchase components and other necessary materials for greenhouses. We hope that all plans will be realized, and Kyrgyzstan will become the center for the development of the greenhouse direction for new Korean technologies in the CIS.
